The fee requirement was originally set to expire on Tuesday, October 15, but has now been extended until Sunday, October 20. This includes the Northwest Iron Lot across from The Sports Garden, Lighthouse Lot across from Grandma's Saloon & Grill, and Lake City Lot across from Little Angie's Cantina and Grill.

Mark Bauer, City of Duluth Parking Services Manager, said in an emailed statement sent by a City of Duluth spokesperson that their practice for many years has been to extend the fee season through the MEA weekend, when many families make trips to Duluth.

Matt Baumgartner, President of the Canal Park Business Association, says they have obliged the city's request in recent years.
