A second suspect, Joanne Rose Smith, 46, of Duluth, was charged in November last year with aid and abet murder in the third degree.

This stems from the overdose of Samuel James O'Leary, 33. He was found in the city of Rice Lake on December 4, 2017, and authorities said he died of a fentanyl overdose.

The Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force and the Sheriff's office worked together on the case.
