Move of William A. Irvin Ship Out of the Minnesota Slip Delayed

Due to reports of unfavorable weather conditions, The City of Duluth will not be moving the William A. Irvin ship out of the Minnesota Slip to Fraser Shipyard in Superior during the week of Sunday, July 16th.

To move the historic vessel for necessary for restoration and repairs, calm winds and lake conditions are needed as the ship has no propulsion mechanisms.

The process of moving the ship out of the Minnesota Slip will require the slip bridge to be locked in the up position.

The original plans to move the William A. Irvin ship were between the days of Tuesday, September 18th and Friday, September 21st, with operations resuming to normal after the ship's departure.
