The Minnesota State Patrol says two motorcyclists were killed when they were hit by a car in Pine County shortly after 1:00 Sunday afternoon.

The patrol says 66-year-old Jerry Dean Mcdowell and 61-year-old Sharon Marie Mcdowell were riding a 2012 Harley Davidson Motorcycle east on Highway 48 when it slowed and attempted to turn North on Fleming Logging Road. A 1997 Chevy 1500 traveling east on Highway 48 then struck the Harley Davidson.

Jerry and Sharon Mcdowell were both killed in the crash. The patrol says they were both wearing helmets.

Alcohol is not a suspected factor in the crash.

The 17-year-old driver of the 1997 Chevrolette 1500 was uninjured in the crash.

Pine County, and Life Link assisted the State Patrol on scene.
