At approximately 8:00 p.m deputies responded to the crash on Hwy 44 near Brimson Road. The lone male driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

A deer came out of the ditch and the driver of the motorcycle was unable to avoid the deer.

St. Louis County Sheriff's Office and Brimson Fire Department responded to the scene.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification to the family.

Speed and alcohol are not a factor of the incident.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says there is an increase in deer activity in June because female deer search for places to give birth and young deer separate from their mothers. State Patrol are reminding motorists the need to be more alert.
