Memorial Day is a few weeks away, and more groups are needed to march in Duluth's parade.
Sharon Bergquist with the Duluth Women of Today, which helps organize it, said they're hoping to get to 50 groups.
"We do ask that ... you have some red, white, and blue decorations and flags and show your patriotism to thank those who gave their lives for this country," Bergquist said.
It's the same parade that veterans threatened to take out of Duluth when the city raised the fee to hold it. They worked out a lower fee, and now organizers need to fill it up.
"A lot of us have relatives who served and didn't come back," Bergquist said. "So it's to say thank you because we have freedoms now that we would not have had had they not fought for this country."
It's free to join. People can sign up on the Duluth Women of Today website through May 25. They are not allowing political groups or candidates.
The Duluth Memorial Day Parade starts at 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 30. It will be on Grand Avenue between 59th Ave. W and Central Ave.
