The Wisconsin Attorney General and Douglas County District Attorney say a 61-year-old Danbury man has been charged with child sexual assault.

According to a press release, the incidents occurred between 2005-2010. They charged Jeffrey Anthony Charles with one count of Repeated Sexual Assault of a Child.

It allegedly happened at Charles' cabin in the Town of Summit, Wis. Authorities say while Charles was pastor of Neighbors to Nations Church in Princeton, Minn.

They say he assaulted a victim three to four times when they were between the ages of 3 and 7.

"It is very common for child sexual assault victims to disclose prior abuse for the first time long after it has happened, sometimes years later," Douglas County District Attorney Mark Fruehauf said in a statement. "Even in that circumstance, crime victims should know that they will be listened to and taken seriously."

"Thank you to DA Fruehauf for his continued partnership with the Clergy and Faith Leader Abuse Initiative, and for the work of his office and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office in seeking justice in this case," Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul said in a press release.

The Wisconsin AG's office said Charles was convicted of third-degree sexual abuse in 1997 in Iowa.
