Another resident in the Northland wins big with the Minnesota Lottery.  According to a press release, Ollie Nyhus of Hibbing won $500,000 by playing the Lottery’s Cash Extravaganza scratch game.

Nyhus claimed her prize at Lottery headquarters in Roseville on Dec. 7. She purchased the winning ticket at Hibbing Short Stop in Hibbing.

The business will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. 

Lottery officials say players have won more than $7.3 billion.  The proceeds benefit the state by helping preserve and protect the environment.
