The public has been asked to leave the area following unconfirmed reports by the City of Minneapolis that gas lines to the 3rd Precinct have been cut.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said he is working with the Minneapolis Fire Department to respond to the fire.

According to KSTP, over 170 businesses have been either looted or damaged or both, as of late Thursday night.

President Donald Trump also weighed in on the continued protest, tweeting: "I can't stand back and watch this happen to a great American city, Minneapolis."

President Trump said he spoke to Governor Tim Walz about the state's response, however, Governor Walz has not provided any further updates at this time.

This is a developing story.
