A group of preschoolers collected more than candy on Friday morning in Duluth. They were picking up canned goods from businesses in the Tech Village and Wieland building.

Mesabi Preschool organized this outing, which was complete with some great costumes.

"We decided to give the kids some normalcy. We're doing trick-or-treating, with a twist!" explained Shelly Vanneste, the owner and executive director. "They're learning about taking care of neighbors and having compassion for those who are less fortunate."

People in the offices handed out bags of food, which school staff then pulled in a wagon.

Mesabi also has a location in Proctor, which is why the food shelf there is getting the donations.
