A criminal complaint filed Friday says the five allegedly signed a letter, which left the wrong impression that two of the signees were current school board members.

The complaint says former board members Colleen Kohegyi and Denise Thompson are charged with Falsely Exercising the Function of Public Office.

Current members Noel Brandt, Michele Holmstrom, and Deanna Pierpont are charged with Misconduct in Public Office for allegedly signing the letter knowing other signees were not current board members.

The letter was to the Department of Public Instruction regarding an audit of the district.

The school district, those named in the complaint, and the district attorney's office have not yet responded to our request for comment.
