There are a number of events planned across the Northland this Memorial Day to commemorate the men and women who died while serving their country.

After being canceled last year due to the pandemic, the annual Memorial Day Parade in West Duluth is back.  According to Duluth Women of Today the parade will begin at 12:30 a.m. on Monday, May 31.

According to the Duluth Women of Today website, the float line-up begins at 10:30 a.m. and the parade begins 12:30pm. Parade line-up is at 59th Ave W; parade entries have to come on to 59th Ave W from Raleigh St, not Grand Ave. The parade route is on Grand Avenue toward Central Avenue.

Duluth Women of Today organize this annual event.

Also in Duluth, the Sunrise Funeral Home will be providing a virtual re-run of their 2020 service. The Memorial Day Service has become one of the area's largest events to honor the brave soldiers who gave their lives so that we could enjoy the freedoms we so often take for granted.

The virtual service is available to watch at your convenience. Sunrise Memorial Day Service
