A McKinley man has been arrested after allegedly leading authorities on a high speed chase in Virginia.

Members of the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force confronted the 27-year-old man around 8:00 on Wednesday morning in Virginia.  

The man then fled authorities in his SUV he was driving. Authorities say he rammed a police vehicle and lead them on a high speed chase through Virginia towards Eveleth.

Authorities say the man then fled the scene on foot into a wooded area between Virginia and Gilbert. He was arrested around two and a half hours later hiding next to a residence near Gilbert.
