She then met with supporters at Vintage Italian Pizza, also known as V.I.P., to watch the election results come in. Those supporters include Superior's mayor Jim Paine and Duluth City Councilor Joel Sipress.

By 10:45pm, the Associated Press had called the race, saying she won the primary. The other Democrat in the race was Dr. Brian Ewert, of Marshfield.

Engebretson, who is a veteran and now a lawyer told us, "Regardless of the outcome, it's been an amazing experience. Not only for me, but also for my campaign team and all the supporters."

She wants to challenge Republican Sean Duffy. "He's been an absentee representative. I think we deserve better. We're asking for change and true representation."
