The incident happened at a residence on East Shore Road in Marenisco Township.  Authorities say armed suspects broke into the home, assaulted and tied up the homeowner, and robbed him of money and numerous guns.

The homeowner was eventually able to free himself and call for help.  Officers conducted an extensive search of the area but were unable to find the suspects.

Sheriff Pete Matonich said investigators believe the suspects specifically targetted the residence and may no longer be in Michigan.

Officers executed a search warrant in Ironwood on Tuesday, but the sheriff's office did not say if the search turned up any clues in the case.
