Man Injured in Spooner Explosion

The Spooner Police Department says a man suffered life-threatening injuries in an explosion Friday morning.

A 911 caller reported the explosion at 1100 Roundhouse Road just before 6 a.m. A machine shop is located at the address.

The 29-year-old victim was treated by North Memorial Ambulance crews at the scene and then taken to the Spooner hospital, where he was airlifted to a Twin Cities hospital.

A Washburn County Sheriff's Deputy, the Wisconsin State Patrol Inspector, and the Spooner Fire Department also responded to the scene.
