A man was injured after a semi truck failed to yield and hit his pickup on Midway Road.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office said the driver of the semi was heading east on Old Highway 61 and didn't yield before crossing the intersection at Midway Road.

According to authorities, the semi hit the driver's side of a pickup truck that was heading north on Midway. The pickup truck driver was taken to Essentia Health with "what is believed to be serious injuries." His condition is unknown.

There was an empty flatbed trailer attached to the semi. The semi truck driver was not injured.

It happened around 2:45 p.m. The Proctor and Hermantown police departments, Minnesota State Patrol, Midway and Proctor fire departments and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded.
