38-Year-Old Man Hospitalized After Getting Injured on Mission Creek Bike Trail

A 38-year-old man had to be hospitalized after falling of his bike, and getting injured Saturday evening on the Mission Creek Bike Trail, a city of Duluth spokesperson says.

Public Information Officer Kate Van Daele says around 7:00 multiple agencies responded to find the man with "significant injuries that needed assistance."

Van Daele says the Duluth Fire Department had GPS coordinates to locate the man, but a COGGS (Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee Shores) trail volunteer ultimately led the fire department to him. 

He was retrieved with the fire department's ATV and side by side, Van Daele says. The man was then transported to a local hospital.

All units were cleared by around 8:20 Saturday night.

Duluth Fire, Duluth Police, a COGGS trail volunteer, a security guard from Fond du Lac, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance responded.
