Man Apparently Drowns in Lake of the Woods

Police say a man apparently drowned on the Canadian side of Lake of the Woods.

Ontario Provincial Police say 41-year-old Leslie Martin of Washagamis Bay (Obashkaandagaang) First Nation was reported missing on Friday.  Witnesses said Martin entered the water at White Partridge Bay, near Kenora, and did not resurface.

The OPP Marine and Trails Unit and Treaty Three Police Service conducted a search and found Martin, who was pronounced dead.

The case is being investigated as a sudden death.
