A 25-year-old Makinen man faces two counts of 1st degree attempted murder. Daniel Edmund Reitmajer has been in custody since Monday morning.


Authorities allege he fired a gun at a blue truck on Wilson Road in Eveleth. This was around 5am on Monday. 

A deputy who responded said the victm's truck had its rear window shattered. And the front windshield was spidered and cracked.

The man driving it said he had been on his way to work, when Reitmajer started following him and pulling up alongside of him. 

The complaint said Reitmajer fired two shots at the victim's vehicle. The victim was visibly shaken, according to the sheriff's office, but not physically hurt.

Authorities said they found a baggy with suspected methamphetamine in his pocket. 

In an interview with law enforcement, Reitmajer said he accused a person of stealing from him. And that person left his home in a blue truck the night before.
