More than a hundred Lowell families participated in the STEM + Families Science Festival Thursday night.

Students from local organizations, teachers, and volunteers led experiments engaging Lowell Elementary School students and their families in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities.

These activities were offered at 10 experiment stations. A pizza dinner was provided for families participating, and students enjoyed a robot demonstration by the Denfeld DNA FIRST Robotics team.

The event was made possible through a $3500 grant awarded to the Duluth PTSA Council by Bayer. Contributions have also been made by local businesses and engineering firms.
