Lake Superior Glass Revolutionizes Pumpkin Decor

Updated: October 15, 2019 12:20 PM

Moving away from the traditional method of picking a pumpkin in a patch, Lake Superior Glass allows individuals to create pumpkins of their own.

“It’s a little different than carving a pumpkin that’s going to go bad in you know, a couple weeks. This is a lifetime memory that’s going to be around forever and you got to watch it be made,” Jody Cowan, Marketing Manager at Lake Superior Glass said.

Everything from the size to the color to the stem on top can customized. It is then made by one of Lake Superior Glass’ talented artists.

“They get to pick two colors and they can be spotted or swirled,” Cowan said.

Prices for pumpkins vary from $46-$86 based on size and can also be ordered online, according to Cowan.

“Some of these guys have been working here for the last twelve years,” Cowan said. “It takes time to be able to make a pumpkin in five minutes. It’s impressive.”

Saturday was the first of three 'Design Your Own Pumpkin' events. The others will take place on Wednesday, October 16th and Sunday, October 20th.

Cowan said that individuals who are interested in attending one of the two remaining events can sign up on Lake Superior Glass' website.
