Search and recovery efforts for a 53-year-old man continued on Lake George in Oak Grove Sunday afternoon after efforts to find the man were unsuccessful Saturday.

The sheriff's office says the office responded to a report of a man drowning on the lake at around 12:04 p.m. Saturday.

The sheriff's office learned that the man, from Oak Grove, had removed his life jacket and was swimming near a boat when he began to struggle before going underwater, the release states.

The man's body is being examined by the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office for positive identification.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office's Marine Unit along with the Department of Natural Resources and area fire departments were on the lake Saturday as part of the recovery.
