Friday, veterans expressed their gratitude to Kraus-Anderson for their contribution to the monument, and all of the monument projects, scholarships, and community projects they have helped fund.

"This company has donated tens of thousands of dollars over the years," Duluth Honor Guard Captain John Marshall said. “Kraus-Anderson has been a blessing in my life, in the veterans’ community, and the community as a whole.”

The Honor Guard expressed their appreciation to the company by presenting them with a plaque and a bronze canteen. Marshall said he added a message in Latin on the bottom of the plaque that translates to, "May I not shrink from my purpose."
