Judge Gary Pagliaccetti to Retire

A longtime judge on the Iron Range is retiring. Judge Gary Pagliaccetti was first appointed to the bench in 1989 by Governor Perpich, and has served for more than 30 years now. He is chambered in Virginia.

His biography listed on the Minnesota Judicial branch website says he previously served as a public defender and as a staff attorney with the St. Louis County Attorney's office. He's also been a voice for the courts at public events.

According to the Commission on Judicial Selection, they are now seeking applicants for the open spot.

An individual wishing to apply may request an application by contacting Carl Dennis, Judicial Appointments Coordinator, via e-mail at Carl.Dennis@state.mn.us. A cover letter and resume should also be submitted. Application materials are due by close of business on Wednesday, July 29, 2019 and should be addressed to the Chair of the Commission, Ms. Lola Velazquez-Aguilu.

Interviews are scheduled to be held on Monday, August 19, 2019.
