The tall ships are not the only unique vessels you'll see in the Duluth Harbor this weekend.

Jeff Foster, the owner of Jeff Foster Trucking in Superior, made a semi truck pontoon.

Foster got inspired to make it a year ago after seeing a picture online. He luckily had a 28 foot long pontoon boat that was old and saw the perfect opportunity to get the creative project started with the body shop and mechanics at his company.

He called it a fun team building experience for everyone involved.

They took the semi truck pontoon out in the water for an inaugural run last year in Island Lake.

"The minute someone would see it, they would come towards the boat with their boat and of course the first thing they did is they would blow the horn. And yes, it does have an air compressor and horn. It looks just as if you were driving a semi truck," Foster said.

The pontoon will be seen in the Duluth Harbor this weekend and is parked at Pier B Resort.

Another unique vessel you may see in the Duluth Harbor is a red jeep amphibious water car from California owned by Sandy Hoff of Pier B.

It's being used as a promotional piece for Pier B. It goes 80 miles per hour on land and 45 miles per hour in the water.
