The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened early Monday morning on Highway 210 in North Carlton.

Authorities say a van going westbound crossed the center line. The semi, traveling eastbound, tried to avoid it. However, the van eventually crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with the semi. The agency said the two vehicles made contact "passenger side to passenger side head-on."

The driver of the van was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening. The condition of the semi driver is unknown. It's also unclear if there were other people in either vehicle.
