In recent months, crews demolished the old State Highway 70 bridge in Rock Creek, a few miles south of Pine City, and built a new one.  The new bridge is slated to open to traffic on Friday.

Then on Saturday, the County Highway 7 (Pokegama Lake Road) bridge in Pine City is slated to close for demolition.  Highway 7 is the southern exit to Pine City.

The Minnesota Department of Transportion says the Highway 7 exit and entrance ramps will remain open for the time being. However, anyone who needs to cross the interstate will need to take another bridge.

The official detour will be on the new Highway 70 bridge.  Drivers may also choose to take the County Highway 11 (Henriette Road) exit on the north side of Pine City.

The Highway 7 exit and entrance ramps will close for reconstruction sometime in late August or September.  The new Highway 7 bridge is slated to open by the end of October.
