Authorities: Man Shot in Leg in Hinckley

The Pine County Sheriff's Office is investigating the non-fatal shooting of a man in Hinckley this week.

Sheriff's deputies had responded to a report of shots being fired at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday on the 400 block of 1st Street SW in Hinckley, but did not find a shooting victim.

At 3:15 a.m., Burnett Medical Center in Grantsburg, Wis., reported a man in the emergency room with a gunshot wound to his leg. The 25-year-old victim told a sheriff's deputy that he was shot in Minnesota but did not provide any other information.

Investigators later followed up with the victim after he was transported to a Twin Cities hospital and received information leading them to believe he was in the area where shots were reportedly fired. However, a suspect has not been identified.
