Sheriff Tony Furyk says his department received a report at 3:53 a.m. that a semi-truck had collided with a car in the Town of Saxon.  Both drivers were taken to the Ironwood hospital, but a passenger in the car died at the scene of the crash.

The name of the person who died is being withheld because family members are still being notified.

Highway 2 was closed for several hours following the crash, but reopened late Tuesday morning.  A Wisconsin State Patrol accident reconstruction team assisted with the investigation.
