Hibbing school leaders provided an update about the investigation involving Dan Gotz. Gotz was placed on paid adminstrative leave towards the end of the school year, after the district received complaints against him.

According to a WCCO report, the complaints had to do with comments he made to students that some might consider bullying in nature.

Outgoing superintendent Brad Johnson told WDIO News, "The complaints were taken very seriously and have been thoroughly investigated. The district will respond appropriately to this situation."

He added, "Action will be taken to address the concerns, but that action does NOT include termination at this time."

Gotz remains on leave. The new superintendent and principal are working on a plan for the school year.

Because of the limitations contained in Minnnesota data privacy laws, Johnson couldn't say more.

The teachers union declined to comment at this time.
