According to the prosecutor, Johnson's probation includes 9 months at NERCC. He'll also be required to complete a domestic violence program and chemical dependency evaluation. He received credit for 525 days in jail he's already served.

Police responded to an apartment in Hibbing last May. The criminal complaint said they found a woman who had been stabbed in the eye area, and another woman who had been punched. Johnson had barricaded himself in a bedroom. He eventually opened the door.

The criminal complaint also said that the woman who had been Johnson's wife had gone to the apartment to collect some belongings. She had been in the process of separating from him, which domestic violence experts say is a very dangerous time for women.
