Hibbing Fire Marshal Bryan Fagerstrom says the investigation into a fire that killed four people is still underway and may continue for some time due to the amount of damage to the home, as well as frigid temperatures.

The Dec. 26 fire killed 67-year-old Steve Gillitzer and 63-year-old Pat Gillitzer and two of their grandchildren, 9-year-old Todd Jacob Gillitzer, Jr., and 4-year-old Isaiah Anteus Adams.

Fagerstrom said in an email to media outlets Wednesday that the cause has not been determined and that there are no indications or evidence of foul play. State officials and the insurance company are working with Fagerstrom to determine the cause.

Besides the four deaths, damage is estimated at $320,000.

Fagerstrom says the city continues to work with the family to assist in any way they can.
