Another candidate has been added to the Duluth City Council race. Henry Banks formally announced his candidacy for the District 3 seat on Tuesday.

He was joined by supporters as he made the announcement in Central Hillside Park. 

Banks says District 3 is the most diverse in the city. He says he will work to make sure everyone is included.

"We can no longer accept the notion, or be relegated to just being at the table. It is important that people of color and indigenous communities truly be in the life and consciousness of our city," said Banks.

Banks cites his current position on the Duluth Transit Authority Board, his past work on the Duluth Planning Commission, and his volunteer experience for why he would be the ideal candidate.
