Two Dead in Medical Helicopter Crash at Brainerd Airport

Two people died in a Helicopter crash at a Brainerd Airport Friday.


According to a statement from North Memorial Health, it was one of their helicopters that crashed. Officials said it happened around 1 a.m.

Three people were on board. The pilot and and a nurse on board died at the scene. The third member, according to the statement, was transported to a hospital in Brainerd. The condition of that person is unknown.

The health group said the Federal Aviation Agency and National Transportation Safety Board have been notified. The group also said they will cooperate with both agencies during their investigation.

Authorities from Crow Wing County, Brainerd and Baxter responded to the crash.
