A woman is charged with arson after fire destroyed a home in Grand Portage on Tuesday.

The fire on Townsite Road was reported at 4:50 p.m. Two occupants were home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.

A news release from Cook County says 46-year-old Lori Jean Dahmen, who was one of the two people inside the home at the time of the fire, was arrested following the fire. She appeared in court on Wednesday morning to face an arson charge.

The Grand Portage and Hovland fire departments responded to the scene, and the state Fire Marshal's Office is conducting an arson investigation.
