Man Suffers Serious Injuries in Cook County Crash

The Minnesota State Patrol says a 27-year-old man suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries in a 2-vehicle crash Thursday morning.

Authorities responded to the crash around 9 a.m. on Highway 61 at Store Road in Grand Portage. 

The Patrol reports the 27-year-old man from Michigan "made an improper turn" in front of a truck driven by a man from Grand Marais. The car of the 27-year-old man suffered serious damage after being struck on the driver's side in a "t-bone fashion."

The Michigan man suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and taken to the Cook County North Shore Hospital in Grand Marais. He was later flown to a Duluth hospital.  

The 59-year-old man driving the GMC Conventional Cab was not injured.
