This was a special day for members of the church because they waited three years for the grand reopening.

The church was destroyed by a fire in 2016 that caused over $5 million in damage. During that time, the church was closed and had to get repaired and rebuilt.

Everyone was happy with the church's new look. It features original design stained glass windows, a new elevator to access all the levels of the building, energy efficiency, and a commercial kitchen.

"It's been very positive. Today we've had people who grew up in the congregation or who were married here or baptized here come back to this space and they said it’s good to be home,” Pastor David Carlson, said.

The reopening was hosted on Palm Sunday and was filled with hundreds of community members who were singing and celebrating together.

The church is expecting a larger than average attendance on Easter Sunday on April 21. They’ll have two services at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.
