The new outdoor chain is headed by Marcus Lemonis, best known for his work on a CNBC show. Lemonis bought the assets of Gander Mountain in bankruptcy court in May 2017.

The redesigned stores are divided into three sections: hunting and shooting; fishing and boating; and biking, hiking, kayaking, and skateboarding.

The Hermantown location, at 4275 Haines Road, will have more than 70 employees. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 17 beginning at 9 a.m.

"We have seen an overwhelming positive response to the opening of the Hermantown location, which offers customers one-stop shopping to serve all their outdoor recreational needs," Lemonis said in a news release. "We are excited to continue expanding our outdoor industry footprint and reinforce our brand’s presence, while supporting economic growth across the country."

A Gander Outdoors store in Lakeville is already open. Stores are due to open in Forest Lake this month, Bemidji in April, and Brainerd sometime this year. The company also has one store open in Wisconsin with plans for ten more in that state.
