His friends and classmates returned to school on Monday with heavy hearts. Their grief is still overwhelming, as they process the death of their friend.


Jackson Pfister died on Friday while playing football in Aitkin. The 15-year-old was a sophomore at Esko, and was active in multiple sports. Monday, authorities released that his death was from natural causes, related to his congenital heart disease.

According to Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet, visitation will be Sunday, October 20 beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 4:00 p.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet. Afterwards, there will be a luncheon in the church social hall.
