The Friendship Garden in Billings Park now has a special tree. Monday, under bright sun, it was dedicated to Josef Braeu, a member of the Sister Cities Commission who passed away.

Rani Gill, chief of staff and the Sister Cities Coordinator in Superior, said, "He did go to Japan as a delegate in 2010. He designed this garden. Everytime we come to this garden, this is Josef."

A delegation from Japan was there to see the dedication. They are a mix of students and adults. Through an interpreter, they said the garden reminded them of home.

Gill said Ami-machi is Superior's only sister city, but they hope to grow that in the future. This is the 22nd year of the sister city relationship.
