Fond du Lac is offering healing services to those affected by a shooting that took place at the Head Start Building Friday morning.

Rita Aspinwall, the communications director for Fond du Lac Reservation, said, "Our first and foremost concern is for the safety of our children, our community and our employees. Counseling is being encouraged and made available for those impacted by this incident."

The Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa has set up the following services for the weekend of October 19-October 20 at the Fond du Lac Ojibwe School:

• Spiritual Healing

• Emotional Health Support

• Grief & Loss

Services will be available from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Fond du Lac Ojibwe School in the gym, if you need additional help the phone line is open 24 hours a day: (218) 878-7177.

Spiritual Advisors, Elders, Mental Health professionals, Red Cross workers, and a Healing Drum will be present. There will be light refreshments and kid-friendly activities. People are advised to bring a dish to share and say everyone is welcomed to join.
