The fire department says they responded at 10:40 to the Bay Side of Park Point around 37 Street and Minnesota Ave. where 36 fishermen were stranded.

One fisherman swam back to shore, but the rest of them were removed using a ladder, 3 Rapid Deployment Crafts, and a boat.

The Duluth Firefighters Union said via Twitter that the Duluth Fire Department deployed inflatable rescue boats to rescue the fishermen.

A WDIO News crew on scene around 12:30 noticed a St. Louis County Sheriff rescue boat.

The Duluth Fire Department says that St. Louis County Rescue Squad conducted a final sweep with an air boat to confirm that everyone was off the ice.

Duluth Fire crews from headquarters, UMD, Lincoln Park and Spirit Valley responded, along with US Coast Guard, Saint Louis County Rescue, Minnesota DNR, and Gold Cross Ambulance.
