Firefighters in Wisconsin battled a blaze early Monday on a ship in Sturgeon Bay.

Fire Chief Tim Dietman said the fire was in a ship called the Roger Blough. WBAY reported the ship, a bulk carrier, was being stored for winter.

According to a statement from Keystone Shipping, which operates the Blough, the fire is out.

Representatives from Keystone are on the scene and are cooperating fully with the United States Coast Guard to assess the damage and to determine the cause.  Keystone Shipping would like to thank the first responders for their hard work and support throughout this incident.

The Blough often travels to the Northland to bring iron ore to the steel mills. She is part of the CN's Great Lakes Fleet, and was one of the boats that was tied up during the slowdown in 2020 because of the pandemic.
