Cook County Sheriff Pat Eliasen says multiple agencies responded to the report of a fire in the basement late Saturday night.  Two adults and four children left the home and went to another home to call for help.

According to law enforcement records, firefighters arrived to find flames visible in the corner of the basement where a wood stove and hot water heater were located.  The building was later deemed unsafe to enter.

Firefighters were not able to determine the cause of the fire but say foul play is not suspected.
