Carey Johnson, Lake County Sheriff, says the crash happened at the Trestle Inn, just north of Finland.

Johnson says two women were riding on a two-passenger snowmobile driving down the Tomahawk Snowmobile Trail. They then came to a curve, and lost control after driving too fast, according to Johnson.

They then hit a tree, and both women suffered injuries. One woman suffered a head injury, while the other suffered a rib injury, according to Johnson.

One of the women was airlifted to St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth.
