2nd Fatal Snowmobile Accident in 26 Hours in Gogebic County

According to the Gogebic County Sheriff's Office, a 52-year-old Wisconsin man was killed in a snowmobile accident shortly before 1:00 p.m. Saturday.

The initial investigation revealed the man attempted to cross U.S. Highway 2 on his snowmobile and was struck by an eastbound pickup truck.

The man was transported to Aspirus Ironwood Hospital by Beacon Ambulance where he was pronounced dead.  

The investigation into the accident is ongoing and the man's name is not yet being released.  

This is the 2nd fatal snowmobile accident within the past 26 hours in Gogebic County.
