A 911 caller reported the crash at 8:20 a.m.  The crash was near the intersection of Nature Road NW and Mayflower Road NW in Eckles Township, which is about nine miles northwest of Bemidji.

Forty-two-year-old Rosalee R. Miles of Shevlin was riding an ATV that left a roadway and went into a ditch, where it hit a barbed wire fence and overturned in a field.  The sheriff's office says Miles was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene of the crash.

The Beltrami County Coroner's Office is continuing to investigate the crash, along with the sheriff's office.  The Minnesota State Patrol, Bemidji Ambulance, and North Country First Responders also assisted at the scene.
