Two Outspoken School Board Members Lose Their Seats

With all precincts reporting and the absentee ballots counted in Tuesday's election, two outspoken Duluth School Board members have lost their seats.

In the Fourth District, incumbent Art Johnston lost his seat.  Retired teacher Jill Lofald wins it with over 60 percent of the votes. 

In District 1, incumbent Rosie Loeffler-Kemp will keep her seat.  She beat Kurt Kuehn with over 60 percent of the votes.

There were two at-large seat on the ballot and one incumbent, Harry Welty, was seeking re-election.  Two newcomers won the seats. Sally Trnka and Josh Gorham won with 30 and 27 percent of the vote, respectively. 

With these results, incumbent Harry Welty lost re-election.  Dana Krivogorsky was also on the ballot.
