Railroad Street Closure

For about two weeks, Railroad Street will now close weekdays between Garfield Avenue and Fifth Avenue West. Railroad Street will be open to traffic next weekend. During the closure, the BNSF railroad will replace existing rail crossings. The project is expected to be completed by October 11.

West First Street Closure

Eight blocks of West First Street will convert from one way traffic to two way traffic. The fieldwork will start at 22nd Avenue West and will work its way block by block to the West. Each block will be closed to through traffic during the conversion of that block. However, local traffic will still have access, and the intersections will remain open for avenue traffic.

Vision Northland Closures

Central Hillside is also going to have additional road closures starting tomorrow as a part of Essentia Health's Vision Northland project. Fourth Avenue East is currently closed from Superior Street to First Street, but it will extend to Second Street on Monday. Additionally, traffic will be reduced to two lanes on Second Street between Third Avenue East and Fifth Avenue East. Crews are in the process of mobilizing and staging for excavation work to begin soon for Vision Northland.
